Experience

Summer Internship

I was lucky to be a part of the internship program at Audible Inc (an Amazon company) during the summer of 2019. My role as a Software Development Engineering Intern required me to design, build and deploy an Event Tracking System on AWS environment. As a part of the project I ingested some of the many live SNS events like "Purachse Confirmation" and "Refund Confirmation" and persisted them by storing them on ElasticSearch clusters.

This process the required many AWS services like AWS SQS for storing the live events by subscribing it to SNS, AWS Lambda (triggered by SQS) for pusing the messages into elastic search and ElasticSearch used as a storage facility. The final UI for providing easy access to the data was created using Javascript and React.

Event Tracker System June 2019 – Aug 2019

Created an event tracker system that would listen to the SNS events and persist messages. The final UI allow the user to access data based on various filters available.

Used AWS technologies such as SNS, SQS, Lambda and Elastic search for implementation of backend design. UI was created using Javascript and React framework.

Improved Tech Operational Excellence with drastically reduced ticket resolving time and less number of customer facing tickets. Also provided improved security and Time to market allowing the launch of new business ideas faster

Work Experience

I have a work experience of 3 years at ZS Associates as a Software Developer. My role required me to provide valuable business insights to global pharmaceutical corporations through both primary and secondary data analysis. Being a Software developer my work included the understanding of the current system architecture, designing the new data models and creating a quality product to be delivered to the clients.

Some of the major projects that I have worked in are listed below.

Sentiment Analysis Sep 2017 – Jun 2018

Created a python program to achieve language translation from different languages to English using Google translate API.

Fetched data from social media platforms like Youtube, Twitter and Facebook by web scraping using BeatifulSoup library in Python.

On our recommendations, the client's sale for the drug increased by 30%.

Best Affiliations Oct 2016 - Aug 2017

Developed the Best Affiliations module to find the most trustworthy affiliation for a child entity(physician) to parent entity(hospitals) with respect to different Business units.

Lead the requirement gathering, design, build and testing phase for the module. Leveraged my skills in Informatica, SQL, Unix and MDM domain knowledge.

Our client saved up to $2 million on marketing as their representatives could target the customers much more easily and effectively.

Communication Standardization March 2016-Sep 2016

Cleansed and standardized communication data of physicians which included telephone, fax, websites and emails information.

Used hashmaps to log frequency of occurrence of the faulty communication data. Cleansed data using regular expressions and complex SQL queries on Oracle databases.

Increased the data quality from 50% to 90% leading to an increase in sales as medical representatives could reach out to the physicians with ease.

List of Values Automation Module Aug 2015 - Feb 2016

Developed a module for ingestion of input data into Master Data Management system to identify the new parameter values to be added to the “List of Values”.

Built an email notification functionality in Unix to send email to the Data Stewardship team once a new LOV is detected and post final “List of Values” file to the client server.

Reduced running time to 10 min which earlier required 4 hrs of manual effort.

Recent Work

Detection and prediction for cryptocurrency mining websites

Computed the correlation between cryptocurrency mining websites and the associated CPU usage of the user’s system using logistic regression for classification.

Created a Chrome extension to predict with an efficiency of 94% whether a website is indulged in cryptojacking.

Monopoly Game agent using reinforced learning

Built a monopoly agent that follows the standard monopoly rules to compete with other agents and players.

Implemented Q-learning technique on neural network for the bot to learn from its previous moves.

New York City Taxi Fare Prediction

Created a model to predict the fare amount for a taxi ride in New York City given the pickup and dropoff locations, time of travel and many other parameters using weighted linear regression.

Model predicted with a RMSE of 5.87.

Incentive compensation model for energy exchange system on blockchain

Developed incentive model for an energy exchange between different electric vehicles such that both charging and discharging EVs benefit from the system.

Used convex optimization techniques using cvxpy library in python to maximize the profits.
